Therefore, the early gas spring had a problem of sealing, and even a sudden loss of all air pressure occurred during use. Recently, this problem has hardly occurred. The conventional pneumatic front fork also has the so-called problem, that is, the seal (oil seal) that seals the high-pressure air is very tight. It seems to feel a little bit stuck. It requires a large external force at the beginning of the compression, so it does not respond to small amplitude vibration Very keen. Now the use of negative springs has basically overcome this problem. The use of gas springs in the mid-stroke shock-absorbing front fork has been quite affirmed, but it cannot replace coil springs on long-stroke front forks.
3. Youli glue
Youli glue is made of artificial rubber foam, its compression ratio is not high, only about 1/3, can not be like coil spring, the compression ratio can reach 1/2. It is similar to the gas spring in hardness, that is, the harder the pressure, the harder it will increase in a shorter stroke. Its fatigue strength is not as good as coil springs, but as long as it is moderately lubricated, it can still be maintained for a long time. Youli glue's biggest advantage is that it is light in weight and has a certain shock absorption capacity. It is most sensitive to high-frequency small vibrations and performs best. Its most serious problem is that it is very sensitive to temperature, which becomes hard at low temperatures and becomes soft at high temperatures. Although most people think that the front fork is a cheap front fork, but now this type of suspension fork is a coil spring with a section of top rubber, plus a good suspension damping, is still a product with superior performance.
